Once a RedHat, Always a RedHat

I got the news 2 weeks ago that I’ll be sent to Manila to support the launch of a new account. It's good for more than 2 months (August 23 – October 27 to be exact). I don’t know what to feel during that time, its quite overwhelming at the same time flattering that of all 100s of Team Leads in the site, I was chosen to be part of that team.
Another exciting part of the trip is that we get to live in a Hotel for 2 months. Yay! Thanks CVG.
Prior to departing my beloved Hometown, a lot of things need to be done. Travel Plan, Team Endorsement, Uptraining (as I will be reskilled and will support another LOB when I get there) and never ending farewells to friends and agents.
Then August 23rd came, we departed CVG Bacolod and went our way to CVG Ortigas not knowing what's in store for me there when I step into the building.  When we got to the airport, of course, the breathe of Manila sinks in, I told myself, this will be my home for the next 2 months. I should make the most out of it. Go to places I've always wanted, meet up with highschool buddies and chill out  with friends.  This is my first time to be based in Ortigas, been to Manila several times but never get to explore this part.
This is the first time I got fetched from the airport with a chauffeur and oh yeah I knew it, this is not just a “so-so” accommodation. Stepping into the lobby of Discovery Suites, hell yeah, Convergys shell out a lot of money for this and this has to be worth the expense. We checked in and rushed to our room to get some rest. Of course, me being soooo excited to meet my friends, I waited for them (Zie and Ria).

My first lunch was at Tong Yang in SM Megamall. It’s a buffet lunch of course to make sure that I satisfy my cravings for good food. After several hours of chit chatting, time for us to part ways as we need some energies for the job tonight.
I drowned myself to the feeling, that yeah, I will live a luxurious life here in Ortigas. Jumping to my bed and I snoozed off. Call time exactly 8 pm for our dinner and a meet and greet with 2 Logan Folks (Ethan and Zach). I am not soo good in remembering the places though but we ate at Robinsons Galleria. Then off we go to CVG Robinsons.
We got our temporary badges to access the facilities of the site and then off we go for a site tour with OM Bopeep. We had our first meeting to calibrate ourselves with the things that we should be doing while supporting the site. Lucky to meet the pioneer TLs (Thea, Beegee, Edmer and Razel). The first 2 days at work were spent doing calibration sessions, testing the tools and at the same time defining our demarcation.
Oh yeah, it’s a weekend. First weekend was a blast. I had couple of friends visited me at the hotel. I had Jonna and Shai ( I miss this peeps big time). Then I had Sir Hadji and his friend Dean as well, thanks Sir for lending me your jackets Smile (ako na ang maraming Bisita) They brought me Dinner but Julie ate it Smile with tongue out. Sunday came, since I don’t know yet which is the nearest Church I can attend Sunday mass, pass muna.

Julie and I went to Mall of Asia to meet up with my high school friend Ching. We had lunch at Seafood Island and after that we found ourselves feasting at the Heritage Site in Intramuros, Fort Santiago and Luneta Park.
Fort Santiago (Spanish: Fuerza de Santiago Tagalog: Moog ng Santiago) is a citadel first built by Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi for the new established city of Manila in the Philippines. The defense fortress is part of the structures of the walled city of Manila referred to as Intramuros ("within the walls").
The fort is one of the most important historical sites in Manila. Several lives were lost in its prisons during the Spanish Colonial Period and World War II. José Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, was imprisoned here before his execution in 1896. The Rizal Shrine museum displays memorabilia of the hero in their collection and the fort features, embedded onto the ground in bronze, his footsteps representing his final walk from his cell to the location of the actual execution
First time to step in Manila area. The picture will tell you how much I enjoyed this visit and at the same time discovered what happened during those times Smile
Sunday Ended with a Chill Out Night with Zie and Julie
